Welcome to 'Transmitting to Earth'. I'm Charssun and I'll be your host. This blog and podcast is a byproduct of VoyagerRadio.com and is intended to provide the most timely information about this Internet radio station. It is also intended to be a fun and accessible electronic journal with commentary focusing on Internet radio, podcasting and webcasting issues and technologies, music, and some of my other interests. I also offer personal perspective about being an Internet radio broadcaster (and podcaster).

Well, we're in business. (Not the making-the-money type of business, mind you.) The webcast has been up and running at 32k for the past week and I hope you all are enjoying the new higher quality sound of Voyager Radio. Check it out at VoyagerRadio.com (unless, of course, you just arrived here from there).

You may have noticed some changes if you had not previously registered with Live365 to listen. Live365, our streaming/bandwidth provider, has instituted a new policy which requires listeners to log in before listening, a simple process which requires registration and is free.

I hope this new policy does not deter you from listening to my webcast. By registering you will be able to take advantage of Live365's fun features, like being able to save your favorite Live365 Stations in a list of Presets. That'll make it easier than ever to listen to your favorite Internet radio broadcasts! Hopefully, Voyager will be at the top of that list. Another great feature is being able to participate in Live365's Community Forums, a place I hang out in quite a bit.

Once you've registered and logged in to Live365 to listen to Voyager (which is done simply by visiting www.VoyagerRadio.com and clicking the Launch link, which will bring up the Player Window, where you will log in), you should be able to bookmark my webcast in your MP3 player so that it'll be easier to listen to Voyager the next time. Also make sure to click the "Remember Me" checkbox so that your login/password info. will be stored in Live365's database so you won't have to login everytime you listen to Voyager.
